Cheap stamps website - looks like a scam

Had The Royal Mail Shop pop up in my Facebook feed advertising incredibly cheap first and second class stamps. There were typos in the advert, but the website looks convincing if you're not paying attention.

I'm sure this is a scam, I've reported it to facebook

  • Royal Mail's shop web address is https://shop.royalmail.com/ not the one you posted. It is definitely a scam.

  • Doubt the Royal Mail would ever sell stamps cheap, they've no reason to. It's a scam.
  • Just click on the About Us link, pretty sure Royal Mail wasn’t started by Keeley.

I know that. If you weren't paying attention, and the offer of cheap stamps was tempting, it could be easy enough to get carried away and think you were getting a bargain.

I posted here to warn others.

I understand your sentiments but there are people who - despite many warnings - will still see a 'cheap deal' and go for it.
Even the first page looks 'off':

    £25.9

    Where's the 0?

Estimated to be delivered on 11.25 ~ 11.26

    US date style.

    Christmas 2018 8x7sheet 1st and 2nd

What use is 56 stamps from 5 years ago?

There is a limit to how much help you can give to someone who just sees ££££ in front of their eyes.

My internet security flags up that website as "dangerous".

If genuine, they are still valid for postage.

However, they seem to be only selling in strange quantities - buying 7 of the Christmas 2018 minisheet gives you a lot of unusual values leftover.

The Contact Us page gives an address of 173 Great Portland St, London W1W 5PH which is a Post Office branch.
It also says customer service chat is now available in English.

The About Us page looks like it has been copied from 3 or 4 different places including https://www.positivelypostal.co.uk/ who I know is a genuine dealer.

    Bargepoles at the ready!
I need to think of something new here...
  • The FAQ link is good too. It goes to [website]/blogs/@History-of-Christmas-stamps which is the history of US Christmas stamps. Even Royal Mail couldn't produce a website this bad.
