NatWest - Account Alerts Setup

Hi,
I have been using the NatWest account alerting system for many many years. It will alert you to activity on your account and send an email when a new statement is available.
Well it used to. A couple of months ago I noticed that I had stopped received the "new Statement Issued" alerts.
So I go on-line and the Alerts page is telling me I need to update the email address. Fair enough, this would explain it. Problem is that no matter what I do it allows me to update the email address, but the result is the same. The page still generates an error and the email address is still waiting to be updated. Very frustrating.
I have chatted to the NatWest help. They don't know what the problem is and can't fix it. I've tried clearing caches and cookies, no help. I've tried different browsers, no change.
One of the NatWest reps asked me to amend the email address in the mobile app, trouble is the menu item she asked me to use was not there!
Anyway, if anyone out there has had this issue and can shed any light on it, I'd be very grateful.
