It's christmas eve and we get a B****y bill from Eon.We get our bill online and know how much it is, we are in credit but they want to rise our monthly DD to £220.
Hubby rang them this morning and she was really rude pay it or else she said. That's £100 extra a month we can't afford that!
We are now going to change suppliers see if that makes any differences if we can, lol.Wish us luck !

Are you sure you're definitely in credit as if so your yearly spend will be £2640 which is a lot. Also if you're still in credit now and your DD needs to go up then you must have had a very large credit in the past which has been partly covering your usage. I would also check that you are on the best tariff (this will probably be EnergyOnline Extra Saver version 3).0

The problem with looking at your bill on-line is you can get a false picture of your credit balance.
As an example:
Say I pay £70 a month by DD on the 1st of each month, and had my last bill on 25th September showing me to be £10 in credit.
The £70 payments on 1st October, 1st November, 1st December will be credited to my account and when I look on-line I will be shown today(24th Dec) as £220 in credit.
However tomorrow I will have a quarterly bill of, say, £400 debited to my account and will be £180 in debit.
It is really no different to your bank account looking healthy after your salary has been paid in and just before your mortgage, credit card and insurance payments have been deducted.0 -
We've had the same too.... advising us our DD has gone up by £100 per month. Bad timing for Christmas Eve!!DFW No. 344
Proud to be dealing with my debts!!:T0 -
Thank you everyone for your replies. The £220 a month is with the winterbill paid as we are in credit .This what the lady at eon said we had to pay now! which in turn they will be making money off us even more, that is if we could afford to pay that amount, lol

It does seem strange that if your account is genuinely in credit i.e. billed to date up to actual readings that your DD would need to go up by so much. Do you know what your annual consumption is in kWhs and how much your total charges were on your last statement?0

£220 per month? Do you live in a castle?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
