Access 2003 help: Selecting record with unbound combo box?

Hi all, I've done this several times in the past (4-5 years ago), but I just can't remember how to do it now!
I have a form, feeding off a query of a table. All's working great, but I want an unbound combo-box control to be able to select records with on this form.
Thing is, for each record I have a table field called Ref_No and on the query, I have a 'made-up' field (sorry, forgot the proper term), which creates a longer reference number, based on about 3 different fields from the table/query.
This 'concatenated' reference number works a treat, and although I've added an unbound combo-box control to the form, which lists all of these concatenated reference numbers (representing each record), it doesn't seem to allow me to actually go to the record of the reference number I select in the combo-box.
I'm sure this should be easy... any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Thanks all!

if i recall you can have the id of a combobox different from the displayed value.
basicly the combobox.value would be the id but the displayed value would be a different coloum in the query.
like you most of my access stuff was 7 years back0 -

There is a set of videos here demonstrating a problem with the north wind database and a solution, which involves adding an unbound combo box to select the customer records.
I believe the information you want will be gained from watching video two and upwards, however you may like to start with video one.

Hey, thanks for this Tony, I'll take a look when I get home (as the site you've linked to is filtered out at work).
In the meantime, does anyone have a link to a non-video version of this?0
