Homenow UK, Fable Homes. Private rent to buy company

Hi

Recently found myself in a position where me and my partner had to leave our rented accommodation as the Landlords were selling up. We’re currently back with each others parents as we didn’t have any savings or enough income to find anything else private. We don’t really want to go back down the private renting option due to how massively expensive it now is, without getting anything back out of it in the long run.

We were looking into the rent to buy option, but all the websites we’ve looked at for housing associations near us don’t seem to offer any / have anything available. I’ve only found shared ownership which isn’t really feasible as we don’t have money saved for a deposit (currently saving)

I’ve come across both of these websites; Homenow UK andFable Homes, but can’t find much if anything online to see how legit they are. They both advertise as private companies that will buy the property for you and charge rent whilst you live in and do the house upkeep as if you already owned the property. Whilst renting, one of the companies (fable) help you build a 10% cash deposit from your rent costs, the other Homenow Uk, states after 5 years, you receive a third of the house price increase to help with a deposit.

the thing is, I can’t find much of anything online re the companies or anything similar which is why I’m hesitant to enquire with them.

has anyone had any dealings / have any information on them?

  • Hi I was wondering if you had more info since you made this post? I have book a call with them next week but so far I have only seen the website and some articles. So far it sounds legit, because the scheme is new there is not many review of info available but I'm on the look.

Er, no: Just because landlord sells does not end tenancy nor compel tenant to leave,  The new owner becomes to landlord, taking on the same terms as the current tenancy - tenancy continuing.

Done it myself, 2006. Still a rental property.

AL06 signed up on this forum, made one post, and hasn't logged back in for over a year.  So they might not see your question.

  • Did you get in touch with them? How did it go if you did?
