Beware of Marella Cruises using partner air lines - Ryan Air check in problems

I booked a Marella Canaries cruise via Planet Cruise to save money. I chose a convenient flight which turned out to be Ryan Air. When it came to check in I found you have to do this online with Ryan Air or be charged 55 euros at the airport. Marella's scant information on this just tells you to use the partner airline website. BUT when you do you don't have the data required to access the booking because Marella booked it on your behalf. I contacted RyanAir customer service who simply said I needed the email used to make the booking. I tried logging into my account but no booking there. Basically I could not check in. I then tried contacting Marella of course. More problems because I had booked with Planet Cruise who offered the same package at a cheaper price. So TUI/Marella had no booking from me. Eventually Planet Cruise came up with an email address they happened to know Marella use for bookings. It worked. I got access to my booking and was able to check in, avoiding extra, huge fees at the airport. It took me a whole afternoon to sort this out. The email address is 3PFRyanair@tui.co.uk. You also need a flight reference from the Marella confirmation but that's straightforward.
