Is there a problem?
You have a refund of the money to your debit card to use to top up the £50 on the gift card account0 -
Thanks to all.
I did NOT realise that orders and payments were only finalised at time of despatch.
The other issue I had was that Amazon take payment immediately but refunds take a day (or 2). The same with other companies. Some saying up to 14 days.
In this day and age refunds should be processed immediately.0 -
Even if Amazon process the refund immediately, it takes a few days to show into the recipient account as cleared funds. That is down to the banking system and not the retailer.stclaim_2 said:Thanks to all.

When you pay a retailer the retailer doesn’t get the money instantly in their bank account either. It uses a different system to how we transfer money around from one account to another. So when Amazon instructs their bank to refund you, it will be deducted from their account instantly but still take a day or two (or 14) to reach you. All down to the banks and how well their systems are integrated to one another.stclaim_2 said:Thanks to all.
