Credit Report - when things get reported

Hi, after many years of keeping up with my payments I found that I had forgotten to pay off the minimum £5 on something which I ordered for £24 (hadn't realised I had used credit as such a small amount I thought I'd paid with debit card).
Anyway, I missed the £5 payment on 11th Nov and it will be reported to credit agencies - I have closed the account today, 18th Nov in the hope that rather than it showing as a missed payment it will show as closed. The company does their statements on the 11th of each month so does its monthly reporting to credit agencies shortly after that. I am hoping that if the account is closed in a certain month, even after the cut off date for reporting - when it is reported the following month it will have to show which month the account was closed and it will supersede the missed payment.
I think I'm probably wrong but would like someone else's take on this.

My honest answer to you is you must have something more important to worry about.
Your posting history suggests a lot of debt and restrictions on your property, one small missed credit payment will barely register amongst that landscape, try not to overthink these things.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
