Soundproofing Windows

Hello you very wonderful and intelligent individuals that make up this forum. I sincerely hope you are doing well.
I have been quoted for a 3 panel horizontal slider 1770 x 1025, which is acoustic glass, to block out road noise for £800 including fitting. This will be fitted on my window sill in front of the frame of my original windows, it will be very discreet. I am wanting to try gauge if this is a reasonable price, i please wondered if anyone knows the cost to manufacturer these please? If anyone could help with this i would be forever grateful and thankful it would mean the world to me.
Sending you lots of good wishes and i truly hope you have a wonderful day. All the very best to you and take care.

Don’t know the answer to your question but lots of people use Perspex magnetic glazing to reduce noise and make rooms warmer.0

I've used the magnetic stuff for a single glazed larder window. So small in size.Very good and easy to remove when you wish.It doesn't show in place but does when removed when you can see the magnetic strips. How big is this thing?I couldn't find much online for windows, only patio doors.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

What is "acoustic" glass? Sounds like a marketing term. I would use glass instead of plastic as it's more dense, so will help with noise reduction. I fitted 18 sets of sliding glass secondary panels in a Grade II listed house (too expensive to replace the steel Crittall windows with anything else). The difference in noise levels was fantastic.
Cost worked out to c £310 per window fitted with half of them as large as yours. It's an easy DIY job (I took them out to decorate & clean) so have a look for "secondary double glazing" online and ring round a couple of local glaziers.
