The grey cloud looks set for the day though it's a little less cold than yesterday. My phone call with my SIL was lovely, the third person couldn't make it so we had a great chat. My nephew didn't make his call, some friends came round for a swim. He's now off with his four children for a camping weekend at Double Island Point.Bella - I had recorded the first episode of The King's Troop and thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I was born into a military family so a lot was familiar, especially the shoe polishing. My late DDad looked splendid in his uniforms.Today I'll be going to dispose of cardboard and pick up some meds. I'm resisting shopping as I have plenty in. Yesterday I almost threw out half a bag of sprouts which had blackened leaves until I 'heard' my late DMum scolding me for the waste. So, I peeled them all and have enough mini-sprouts for two days. It's funny how the mind works.11

Morning all.
Am up early today as the plumber has just arrived to fix a problem with our central heating pump. Sitting here having my first cup of tea and have just emptied the dishwasher.
We were meant to be walking with friends yesterday but they had to cancel on us so we had a trip to Ikea; topped up with tea lights and had their meatballs and chips. At no other time would I have jam with my main course but in there it seems just right!
I had most of a bag of small clementines left from the Larder last week, plus a couple of lemons, so I've looked up a recipe for St Clement's cake, which involves boiling the fruit whole for 2 hours in a saucepan, then taking out any pips and processing it all to a pulp. It then has 7 eggs, ground almonds etc added so will see how it all ends up. I'm doing the fruit bit today and will finish making the cake tomorrow. Hopefully it will be nice and moist plus it will be gluten free, so another one I can make for my Coeliac friend.
We're also off to a Morris Ale tonight, so lots of dancing, playing music, eating and drinking. I don't like beer (there will be various barrels of it at the hall) so have offered to drive. Always a fun evening so looking forward to that.
Raining again now so stay dry today folks.10 -
Morning All
Damp and dreary out this morning but not as cold as the last few days. Washing can go on the pulley again then I'll leave it in the living room overnight so the remains of the stove dry it off.
I went out with DD for a while for some shopping yesterday, it was good to get out although I was pretty exhausted when I got home again. Need to go out to the library this morning and pick up a couple of orders for Christmas presents.
Glad you enjoyed your meet up taff.
Have a good trip away Scarlet, hope the weather is kind to you.
Hope your procedure went well Ruby.
Lovely to see the deer Gers.
Hope you feel better Bella.
Hope you all have a good weekend, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. We have mizzle here but it's forecast to lighten so I am hanging fire before I set off looking for more stocking fillers (for the menfolk this time who are the hardest to buy bits and pieces for!) It's a tedious job but I want everything bought by the end of November.
I am wondering about Skipton but if it's raining there the hardy stallholders may not bother to set up. Such decisions I have to make!
Whereabouts Up North will you be heading TAFF? There are quite a few of us up here but unfortunately we are pretty widespread!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. CAMELOT I hope you are on the mend. I hope all went well RUBY. Take care all and be safe xx

Good morning, from the south Lakes, it's raining here would you believe.
We arrived yesterday to meet up with my nephew and his friend.
We're staying in a lovely cottage, it's really nice.
No plans yet for today, there's only two of us up so far!
Have a good day and take care folks.11 -
Up nice and early, just had my new fridge freezer delivered so going to pop out and get a coffee and a croissant as I’d emptied the old fridge and really not got much food in (excuses excuses - my coffee and croissant habit is something I really need to work on). Seems to have stopped raining hopefully so I may be able to get down the allotment later once I’ve done a few chores. Here’s hoping it doesn’t start again later.0 bonus saver

Hi everyone,
I was kept awake last night by the rain landing on the velux windows. I got up to check whether it was hail rather than rain it was so loud.
WL, the lingonberry jam is just like cranberry sauce which I love with turkey.
TA good hunting.
Scarlet, enjoy your trip.
The family only have three full days left as they travel on Tuesday. I think they've had a good time despite a few hiccups like Esben's sickness and the fact that he didn't want to go back to the beach because he was nipped by a hermit crab. They had some highlights like releasing baby turtles on the beach so that they could crawl into the sea. I can't wait to have them back.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning allWet and miserable here in Kent but the weather forecast says it will dry up by noon. I'll believe it when I see it. Don't think I'll put the bedding on the line as it doesn't look as thought it will dry so upstairs on the airer it will go!Just made some muffins so waiting for them to cool and I'll add some lemon icing to themJust had a delivery from Ik**, not, not meatballs @WickedLady4 so will listen to a few choice words later while DH puts our new bedside tables together lolKeep safe all and have a good x8

Morning all, it's dark and wet here. Yesterday I put the xmas present boxes on top of the wardrobe in the spare room, some of them belong to DD but it stops young prying eyes. DGD has already taken the advent calendars home that she spotted ! The only presents I have bought so far are for DGS and bless her DD sorted that, we just paid ! I can't get going on xmas and thankfully DSiL has offered to cook for us on xmas day too.
I also finally found the pair of winter pj's that I'd been searching for and put all the loose shoes from the bottom of the wardrobe in their bag tidily instead of having a mountain of loose shoes like a jumble sale.
Today I shall change the bed and Mr Fix It is doing a store cupboard stocktake, think he's turning into a squirrel with all his stocking up for winter.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
