Barclaycard VISA on google pay still no solution since 2018

I've used Curve Bank since 2016 and since 2018 to make payments to my Barclaycard VISA since 2018 as was the only way to achieve this.
I write to Barclays every year around November and ask them when I will be able to use my VISA directly with Google wallet (Previously Google Pay) and they say each time this feature will be released soon. They helpfully tell me that I can add my connect debit card since 2020.

I like to use a credit card for all expenditure. I only use the debit card to obtain cash inside the branch.

Curve / Google wallet  has become flaky for me recently. Curve says Please carry the physical card and a backup card from another bank whilst we fix the system.

Is there some other card like curve that can link my Barclaycard VISA to Google pay?

I don't wish to use an Apple device, I find them klunky and childlike.

  • Barclaycard are really an outlier here.

Curve removes s75 and complicates chargeback. You can only really opt for a competing card as almost all now support Google Pay.
  • Vote with your feet and get rid of the Barclaycard.

    I rarely need section 75 when buying a coffee or a Mcdonald's

I should, they've mucked me about royally over the years but I've been with them over 40 years.

And? You appear to be making a sunk cost fallacy. Their product does not meet your needs, their service is below the standard you expect. Open an account with a new card provider and close the Barclaycard, problems solved.
  • It's definitely frustrating that they have never got this sorted, just is it really such a hardship to carry the physical card?

The issue is not with Google Pay - it's with Curve so your suggestion wouldn't change a thing.
Barclaycard need to get a move on and support Google Pay like their main brand does with debit cards.

Curve supports Barclaycard and Google Pay. It's the workaround I use for getting the Barclaycard Avios card working with G Pay.

    No need for Samsung Pay.
