  • Just bringing this thread back to life. Am looking for unoccupied house insurance, current company wants weekly visits (its a 4 hour round trip). Plus the usual heating on etc although as it is summer don't think we need that at the moment. Any recommendations?

It is normal for insurers to require regular frequent visits to unoccupied property. In our case as the house was being sold the EA did it for free.

Mum had a gardener, who had also done odd jobs around the house. We kept him on to ensure garden stayed tidy, and he did the weekly inspection.
