30 hours free childcare for self employed - Profit below threshold?

Hi all. I can't find the answer on the Gov website. I am self employed. I sell handmade items online so I am classed as a sole trader. I sell on Etsy, Ebay and on my own website and I have to pay selling fees, buy materials and postage. My question is....I earn just over the amount of £8668 a year so just over the threshold but this is takings and not profit. Can I still apply? I don't actually take home £8668 because of my expences so when it says on the application do you earn over £166.22 a week do I say yes? My intake on my online stores is just over this threshold but the actual money i transfer to my bank is not. thanks.

As you are self employed your 'income' is your profit after expenses , not your turnover, which is your total income before epenses.0

As sheramber says.
However, it is worth being aware of the "start-up period" rule, which provides for an exception to the minimum income requirement for 12 months if you make a declaration of eligibility during the period of 12 months from when you started your self-employment.

Is it? The title of the thread specifically mentions "30 hours free childcare" not tax free childcare.

Start-up period anyway applies to both tax-free childcare and 30-hours childcare.0
