Sorry if someone has already said it but when they come to their final offer kind of thing (so less than the website says you'll get), can you say no & walk away without any kind of charge?

Thanks.
And not 12 months but not far off. 10 I think now.0 -
What make/model is it? When was last service done (oil/filters)?
My thought would be to put it on Autotrader as a busy time of year is coming up. Make absolutely sure you print the buyer a dated & timed receipt you both have copy of "sold as seen", plenty of templates around.
In this Amazon instant fulfillment lifetime guarantee world, some buyers forget their limited rights in the private second hand car market.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -

"sold as seen"
Is that even a good idea to put in any advert?
Personally as soon as I see that, it doesn't matter how good the car or deal sounds I just instantly walk away.
Sold as seen translates to me as money pit but I'm going to try and extract as much money out of you as possible for my scrap heap.0 -

I think all private sales are effectively 'sold as seen', but no harm in avoiding any doubt.1 -
This is the standard form I use when I sell cars privately, buyers have had no problem signing a copy, including a car I sold for quite a few £k in cash and when I asked for ID, the buyer showed me a police ID
Receipt for sale of used vehicle:
Vehicle – xxxx
Registration – xxxx
The purchaser acknowledges receipt of the above vehicle in exchange for the sum of £xxx being the price agreed by the purchaser with the vendor for the above named vehicle.
The vendor confirms, to their knowledge, there is no outstanding debt, loan or other security against this vehicle.
It is understood the vehicle is sold as seen and approved by the purchaser without any representations, warranties or conditions express or implied by the vendor whatsoever.

It's just the moment that I see it put in an advert I immediately feel like I'm going to be dealing with a conman so just don't entertain the car. I feel like it's a get out clause to cover a mountain of electrical/mechanical faults so I just write it off.
But that's me.0
