HML Group Deed of Variation

Options
We are hoping to seek some advice here...

In short, we are selling an 8 year old freehold house which was built by Persimmon and the estate is managed by HML Group.

The buyers solicitor has requested a deed of variation regarding the rent charge,

We have paid Persimmon Legal £150+VAT for this deed of variation to be drafted. This has been accepted by the buyers solicitor.

My solicitor is now telling me that HML Group (the management company) are charging us £650+VAT for it to be legally reviewed before they sign it.

I feel well and truly extorted. I didn't face this issue when purchasing the property.

Has anyone come across this before for a free hold property particularly with Persimmon / HML Group. I'd imagine it would be a common and widely discussed issue if it's something required with the sale of all of their properties...

Many thanks in advance.

I had it with ground solutions but was no where near as expensive
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Did HML Group approve the Deed of Variation ?
  • Has anyone been successful with a deed of variation for a rent charge where they can put leasehold on a freehold property? And how long did it take?
