Smart practice or sharp practice

I've been selling for a few weeks the vast collection of childrens soft toys we had accumulated.
Now I've been grouping them into groups of 3 or 4 of a similar nature and list them in batches because of the time involved. I've had a few occasions where the same person has bought 5 or 6 of these groups and of course I reduce the postage accordingly (they're all small parcel basically & probably go to one medium parcel rate). Now here's my poser (actually sounds like one of Martyn's moral dilemmas). I had a thought that I could raise the starting price (not by full amount of postage though) and offer free postage, that way there's no combined postage to offer. If I sell a number together then I'm better off, risk of course individual sales I get less. But am I being unfair to the potential buyers or is it just smart selling practice on my part.
What do you think?

Maybe smart price-wise, but unless you offer a discount for multiples (or allow best offer) you might find buyers no longer buy multiple lots. Depends how much they want the items.0

If buyers enquire. You could always offer a discount. Rebate some money afterwards. All all you most likely wish to sell off the collection as soon as possible. Now being good time ahead of Xmas0

One of those things you won't really know either way.
If buyers are making a single payment for more than one item you save 30p in fees for the extra items, you perhaps save some time having to wrap one parcel rather than many.
I've come to the conclusion that £6.99 + £2.99 P&P looks better than £9.99 with free postage regardless of eBay's idea that everyone just loves free P&P and personally I'd stick with what you are doing now.
If you feel there's an opportunity to squeeze and few ££ out of the items just keep the postage as you do now and up the BIN price a bit.
There's been many times when I've sold something that's been snapped up very quickly and I've wondered if I could have gotten a bit more but if the stuff is leaving the house and a few ££ is coming back in return then I'm happy.
