Moving from Shell to Octopus. Does credit get passed over?

Hi

Ive just initiated the move from Shell to Octopus. 

I seem to have built up a lot fo credit in my Shell account. What happens to this? Does it get refunded to my bank account, or perhaps it gets passed over into my new Octopus account?

Credit balances don't get passed over to the new supplier, Shell will arrange a refund to you.

That's slightly different, Octopus effectively took over Bulb whereas Shell are leaving the market.

They will refund you.  I moved over last month.  had to wait for the final bill then a few days after I got the refund and then manually paid it on to octopus

If/when Octopus take over Shell then any balance will transfer over.

If someone like @dllive initiates the switch themselves, then Shell will need to refund any balance

How long did it take for Shell to issue you with their final bill?

I got my final Shell bill 7 days after leaving.
