Ebay Issues

Hi All,

I have been having issues with eBay for a few weeks. Basically I wanted to buy a number of items from a seller who was going to offer combined postage to me. When I put in the offers the payments were automatically taken as individual lots rather than as one invoiced payment. The seller was then unhappy with me as they had to make manual refunds for the combined postage. However, in the midst of the eBay took an extra payments, when I flagged this on live chat I got nowhere. I then called and after an hour of the person failing to understand my complaint I was placed through to a manager who apologised, claimed they would put £20 credit on my file and then said they would send a link to me so that I could upload proof of the double payment and get refunded, the manager was then was going to call me back yesterday at 10:30 to fully resolve the case. The link that was sent to me via the manager was incorrect and it suggested the case had been closed off and there was no option to upload documents, the £20 credit never appeared and the callback never happened. I chased the callback up yesterday with eBay and again today - both lengthy calls that ultimately went nowhere. Is there a better way to log a complaint via which it will actually be addressed?

Thanks in advance.

There is no appeal route for eBay, you can only contact them via the help pages and keep trying , when I had an issue recently it took me almost a week to resolve with live chat and phone calls and sending things in via an email link when requested.

Regarding the immediate payment, this is a new initiative which most sellers, myself included welcome, it stops non payers. However it can lead to the issue you had where it forces you to buy individually , but yours is a rare example of where the scheme doesn’t work. There is no current way around it unfortunately. I know some people suggest ending all the listings involved and re listing as one lot, but personally I think that might flag up as an off ebay sale (ebay bots don’t like ended listings with new ones) depending on what correspondence there was beforehand,

I can’t advise on the double payment, I haven’t seen it happen in the past few years (I think I last saw an issue about 15 years ago) and it might be worth doing some digging to see who else this has happened to as glitches like this seem to affect whole areas.

i am very recently back to ebay but can't multiple items be added to a basket and paid for in one? i understand combined postage may have to be refunded but only on one "bundle"?

Not on offers, add to basket works on full price items only
