HMRC Untaxed Interest?

I think this is more Tax related than Savings so hopefully in the right section.
I’ve just had a letter from HMRC ‘kindly’ informing me that I earned more interest in 22-23 than their estimate. Is there any way to actually see what interest they are claiming I have had?
I’ve been onto my personal tax account but that just repeats what the letter said and doesn’t actually make clear where this interest has come from (so I can check I agree with it before sending them money!). I’m not disputing that it’s correct but curious to see if their numbers tally with mine.
Any advice welcome. Thanks.

No.
You will need to ask them to send you the details (of each account).2 -
I can confirm, a quick call and they post you a letter with all the interest declared to them, including the bank name, sort code, and last 4 digits of the account number.2

Thanks both for your help - much appreciated.
I’ll give them a call.0 -
To be fair, you should know how much interest you have earned over the last year & be able to work it out. Remember banks have to report this to HMRC.
You can also ask you bank's for a annual statement of interest.Life in the slow lane2 -
There have been many posts on the savings forum, where the interest recorded by HMRC does not match up with a persons own records. So it is worth checking if you are concerned.born_again said:To be fair, you should know how much interest you have earned over the last year & be able to work it out. It is more likely that a bank has reported late to HMRC than anything.sparklymarkly said:

A "quick" call to HMRC? Does that include the 3 days wait for them to answerOzzig said:I can confirm, a quick call and they post you a letter with all the interest declared to them, including the bank name, sort code, and last 4 digits of the account number.

53 minutes on hold listening to awful lift music with the occasional “your call is important to us” message!uknick said:

I got a message through the other day and the total doesn’t match my records. I do have 8 or 9 accounts but I cannot get any combination to add up to the total they have given me, and I have tried to be meticulous in my record keeping.0
