EDF Bill Delay?

The new format EDF website, in October the bill was generated for the 12th, this month in November the website shows I have been charged on the 12th too, so a monthly billing period.

Do they now generate a bill for each month, and if they do, is a 4-day delay normal?

IIRC there was an email about the new system that they email the bills from now on as an attachement, which they did in October. I would prefer a monthly bill.

Cheers

Was the bill generated on the 12th or was the meter reading date the 12th?
I have found that under Kraken, the monthly date is about 4 days after the meter read.  i.e. in my case 22nd is the meter read and 26th was the receipt date.

  • I've been billed my electric but not my gas for my first post-migration to Kraken.

Do you mean reading, usage statement or actual payment dates ?

4 days delay on what - if from reading to say variable monthly DD - not sure thats a big issue (it must take time to amend and banks to process) ?

My monthly statement with EOn Next (iirc also Krakken back end - but sadly not same front end customer detail as others) is now issued with the bill date matching the smart meter reading taken overnight - so guessing previous day index reading - around the end of first week (7th ?) in my case.
But that's now out of sync with my actual payment date - around the end of month (2xth) - which didn't change from when on an upto 6m paper bill issue cycle but annualised monthly DD payment with EOn.
So my credit balance swings fortnightly (dd credit, usage debit - weeks apart)

But from few posts here iirc some firms are now moving towards monthly payments from e.g. old 3m standard credit etc billing cycles as change systems - so many are likely to be seeing changes.

So for gas I see this:

We debited your account £100.38, For 1338 kWh of Gas used between 13 Oct 2023 and 12 Nov 2023, Balance £29.37 in credit

----so will I receive a bill for this?

These balance statements appeared in the Payment History tab for Gas and Electricity consumption, and then 11 days later I have just had a pdf Bill sent as an attachment to an email, and also as a link under the My Bills tab.  For me this went back to my last Bill at the end of May 2023.  My payment date is in another 9 days.

Your in credit at that point - wouldnt that mean no bill to pay if paying variable DD or standard credit.

And if annualised DD the payment won't reflect just one month's credit / debit cycle.

The statement arrived this morning so they have a considerable delay generating it.

If your account has just recently migrated to the new system, the first bill tends to take a while to go out, up to 10 days, but after that should be produced within 24 hours of receiving a reading.
