Yes it's being investigated by the housing association but it's all very slow going with them.HampshireH said:You need to identify the cause of the damp
Have you checked your gutters, drains etc it's a good starting point.
Could it be a leak.... do you have pipes running in the affected areas.0 -
Are the rooms being properly heated?Signature on holiday for two weeks0

Yes, all rooms have radiators on. Temp usually 20 C with with heating on and relative humidity not really dropping below 70% unless I open windows which I do at every opportunity. Then the RH drops but goes back up again when I close them. It can drop by about 5 - 10% if there's a few very dry and bright days..Mutton_Geoff said:Are the rooms being properly heated?0 -
Heat and get a dehumidifier, Are the bathroom, kitchen fans?
Tape down a patch of clear plastic on the floor if its still dry after a week its probably fine.0 -
Thanks, I'll try that.markin said:Heat and get a dehumidifier, Are the bathroom, kitchen fans?

Was thinking of putting down a layer of vapour barrier insulation under the underlay. If the concrete floor below has a lot of moisture would that be helpful until the damp problem is remedied? Or am I just sealing in the moisture?
Thanks everyone for your input
