Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It seems to be an ok morning so far, yesterday was terrible, it rained all day.
We went to A*Gos yesterday for a car racing track for dg s Christmas present, I'll fill a stocking with bits and pieces as well. I'm only buying actual presents for the two youngest grandchildren, the older ones and their parents can have money.
Not a lot going on today, just going away preparations. We've got a few days away with one of my nephews and his friend, that will be Friday to Tuesday in Yorkshire, we usually go away with them about now. Then dh decided he wanted to see his elder brother in the south west before we go to Oz, so we'll go there on Tuesday, from Yorkshire, till next Friday.
Hope everyone is all right and has a good day today.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning folks. Another wet start for us with a stiff breeze forecast. At least it's still feeling reasonably mild.
Up and at 'em as I have an Ocado delivery booked for early doors. Email tells me no subs or oos. As I am still trying to get stocks down in both freezers (and making progress!!) there's nothing for the freezer on my order, so mostly fridge and cupboard stuff and f & v.
I had a nice meet up with DF yesterday and again we got the snug corner by the fire! No plans for today but, of course, there are jobs if I feel so inclined! I managed to sort the flashing Tivo box myself yesterday without the need to speak to either a virtual or real person! Gave myself a star!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Welcome back NAN, stick with us and moan all you want. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Non-stop heavy rain lasted all of yesterday was very dispiriting.I only went out once for a little bit of shopping before snuggling under my electric throw. Going out into the evening felt very strange, I haven't driven in a dark wet night for a long long time. Oncoming cars with their bright halogen or LED lights really dazzle me. Anyway, the meeting was a pleasure and kept to time. By 8.30p.m. I was back to being snug in my toastie bed.Today is open so who knows?TA - I hope that your DD is managing OK.8

Morning all
Its actually bright and sunny here ! Makes a lovely change but more rain due from tomorrow. Rob is still poorly but on the mend so I have the rest of this week off, bonus for me but I hope he recovers quickly because he loves getting out and about.
Im taking mum shopping today we will go to Lidl and I want to pop into The Range for some jars for my piccalilli I am going to make it this afternoon or tomorrow it should be ready by Christmas then.
Dinner tonight will be filled pasta with salad and garlic bread, dd is on an early so will be here to eat with us.
I need to get the presents out and sort what is for Birthdays and what is for Xmas and then I suppose I should start the dreaded wrapping 😩
Nan it’s lovely to see you posting please keep coming on otherwise we worry xxx
TA I hope your DD is ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx6 -
Hi everyone,
I was supposed to have a dental check up this morning but the surgery rang at 7.30 to cancel because the dentist has hurt his wrist. I need to ring them back to reschedule.
We had a lovely afternoon with Nate, he's much more settled since they took him out of the nursery he was at, it promised a lot but he was getting very upset, there was a very high turnover of staff and he never seemed to be with the same person. It took him a little while after they took him out to stop clinging to Crystal all the time. He starts a new nursery in January, one they really wanted him to go to before but couldn't make the days work. It will take a bit of juggling for a few weeks but hopefully it will be much better for him.
We have a meal out at a game (the food) night tonight, I'm really looking forward to it. Then tomorrow we're going up to the Yorkshire house for a few days. It's been a while.
Have a good day.8 -
Morning! It's sunny for a change. Hopefully the blind people are coming today,it'll be nice ot take down the room dividers that have been serving as privacy downstairs. Ohs mum is coming round for coffee and I just realised last night how close it is till we go away so I'd better order some euros. General tidying is on the cards and that's about it. All cakes are done now so there's two to feed with some cognac then they can sit under the stairs until Christmas and their weekly feed.Gers, same, I also get surprised sometimes that they look like they've got their high beam on but it's just the angle of the road. TA, good luck with the freezer, mine needs a going over too if you're available? Scarlet, happy travelling prep Ruby, happy cooking. I still have a humungous jar left from last year, after a few years of tweaking I have a recipe I really like now. Coxy, glad your dad is getting seen sooner. Nanny, sorry again about your niece. Take care all, hugs to all who fancy them.Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...8

Morning All
Nice and sunny today, busy morning so far making calls re DMIL.
Have now bought the big presents for DD and DGC need to get some clothes and other bits so hopefully getting that done today
Left DH in bed as he ( like me) didn't have a great night. His snoring/ breathing is really bad at the moment but he says the gp said its nothing to worry about, mind you gp can't hear it !!! I can even with ear plugs!
Nan lovely to see you posting
As others have said sometimes we can discuss on here and it makes us feel better
TA glad you enjoyed your lunch
Scarlett hope all your visits go well before you travel.
Ruby enjoy the extra day off
Gers I understand about car lights. Since we moved we have no light pollution as the village barely has any street lights, great for DH telescope not so good on windy country lanes.
I really need to start to go out in my car more as DH has done the majority of the driving since we moved and if I'm not careful I will lose my confidence.
Izzy your bosses wife makes my shackles go up on your behalf, stick to your guns
OK apologies for blathering on, hugs to all who want them and have a good day

I'm glad it's not just me who has a problem with oncoming car headlights! There are no street lights from me for eight miles, in fact right where I was going last night. I just drove very slowly. My mince is on, it was a struggle to get the flattened meat all broken up into 'normal' looking mince. Every day a new thing to tackle - feeling my age this morning.Nan - it is good to see you posting.DP1 - I hope that your little one is feeling better.Camelot - and you too! You've had a number of nasty colds this year.Bella - is all well with you?Snoozer - happy travels.Ruby - enjoy your guest free rest of the week.Izzy - keep that heater on.Taff - where are you going?NRA - has your OH tried mouth tape? Check it out, it seems to work wonders.10

Hello everyone
Raining again here, not heavily just annoying drizzle. Eldest DD in Lanzarote keeps sending photos of sunny blue skies...she goes home tomorrow, she'll be freezing.
I went down to mam and dads this morning for a cuppa and then along to Asda for some shopping, I got a few reduced bits to go in the freezer. I'll use the same bus ticket to go into town this afternoon - I fancy a good look in the charity shops and The Works - might manage to get a few Christmas presents.
Gers - yes all is well with little one now, she's full of beans and excited about the Christmas play at school. She's insisting she has to wear high heels to be an angel! She was learning Away in a Manger so I heard that quite a few times on Sunday!
Oh, and she got a Star of the Week award - for always being interested and asking and answering lots of questions - DD wondered if that just means she never stops talking!
Hope everyones having a good day x
