ECO4 is a legitimate scheme.0

However you should always be a bit wary of cold callers, or cold mailers in this case. You may be able to take advantage of the ECO4 scheme but there is no need to go with the first company that approached you.Reed0

The cold mailing is the result of providers/brokers trawling the EPC register for properties with an F or G rating, which may qualify for help. However, only those properties sold/let in the past 10 years will have a valid EPC. Cold calling is legitimate way to identify properties without an current EPC that may qualify (think old biddy freezing in an uninsulated house in which she may have lived for 50 years or more) but beware any representative who tries to get you to sign up on the spot. That would be construes as "doorstep selling" and is not permitted. They should arrange a future appointment. You'd need time to dig out the documents required to prove eligibility, anyway.Reed_Richards said:However you should always be a bit wary of cold callers, or cold mailers in this case.
