DCBL Fine

Hi Guys, firstly I want to apologise if I am asking for any advice which has been stated previously - I had a read of the newbie stuff and some other threads but found some of it hard to interpret and apply to my case - Sorry!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I received a ticket from ParkingEye Ltd in April 2021 for overstaying the time limit at an Asda. I recall at the time being concerned as it was £100 by the time I saw the letters (which were being sent home while I was at University).
To my memory, the fine was payed - but if they are reaching out perhaps not...
Last month (10/2023) I received a new letter from DCBL informing me of the outstanding £100 fine for the 2021 offence, and another has just been delivered to say it is now being escalated to legal action etc.
The letter says not subject to high court or bailiff action - is this all scare tactics? Do I need to reach out to them? And I suppose most importantly; is this fine going to escalate to something ridiculous?
Thank you for your help people!

Its not a fine first of all.
In the meantime, do nothing until a court claim is issued.1 -
What on earth is "reaching out"?You do not have a fine and DCBL never informed you of such, neither did PE!You have received a debt collectors letter which you should realise if you read the newbies thread properly which should be ignored. As this was in 2021 and PE are using debt collectors chances are they will not or cannot take this further as they are usually quick off the mark. What answer did you get from plan A?3

Thank you for your quick responses La531983 and fisherjim - I did say that I struggled to understand everything I was reading prior to this post (information overload perhaps)!
Not sure what you mean by plan A... but I will ignore these letters and assume they're just trying to scare me into paying.
Thank you again for your help, it's a bit scary when you do not really understand all the details and fine points!
Have a great day

You clearly did not read the NEWBIE sticky carefully enough if you missed Plan A. It is not a quick skim read, it is a sit down with a cup of tea (other beverages are available) and a plate of biscuits and read it until you understand (at least the first post and Plan ACantParkThereMate said:Thank you for your quick responses La531983 and fisherjim - I did say that I struggled to understand everything I was reading prior to this post (information overload perhaps)!

Thank you again for your help, it's a bit scary when you do not really understand all the details and fine points! The first post explains Plan A which gets PCNs cancelled AT ANY STAGE.
Plan A is not 'appeal' by the way.
Second post is about solicitor letters and court claims and why you actually WANT that, if Plan A doesn't work.
Let the court claim arrive.
It's when you win, as long as you use our resources. No CCJ is risked as long as you don't miss any deadlines, and there won't even be a court hearing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
