Solar & Battery Quote

I went back to my original quotes, and all of them are with Eurener panels just different batteries and inverters. The quotes vary between £17500 to £19978, this is without the All in One. I would love to find a cheaper installer than can do good panels and All in One for under £19k.I did have another one called ESE, give me a quote for £15.5k using Longi Panels, LuxPower Inverter and Greenlinx Battery.Am I allow to mention the companies I got the quotes from?0

I reached out to all the previous installers and one of the local ones called back, and remembered all my details. Which is nice. They have mentioned that prices have gone down, and will provide me with a new quote using Eurener panels and the GivEnergy (which they are fully approved to instal). Not only that but they also do chimney removal, which in our case would be great as the fire places have all been blocked off and bricked up inside the property, making them completely useless, especially as they are casting shadow on the area where the panels would be installed.I shall come back with their quote and see what you guys think.0

https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.growatt.comI’d skip Growatt (ignore the confirmation bias). If they can do a Solaredge or Fronius inverter at that price, go for it!Also, remember that rooftop bifacials need a white background to perform at their best. I speak from personal experience
Make sure they 1) acknowledge this and 2) agree to paint within the roof rails before mounting the panels too!- 10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. SE London.
- Triple aspect. (22% ENE/ 33% SSE/ 45% WSW)
- Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (the most efficient gas boiler sold)Feel free to DM me if I can help with any energy saving!1 -
Are the Enphase IQ8 no good?

Thanks a lot for this, I've also messaged you privately with some additional information.

Also, with such a large number of panels and the need for scaffolding, I would be slightly concerned about the 24+ AC inverters on the roof (optimizers would be my preference as they are simpler, less complicated and have a lower failure rate vs. inverters).- 10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. Thanks for all this information. I hope others will benefit from reading through this thread and be able to make decisions when it comes to optimising their solar system. There is a lot of information here, especially in details, that I couldn't find by googling or going through the forum.

Hi all, I just wanted to come back to this post, and state how fortunate I was to have Screwdriva see my original post, and help me out with this. Not only did the installers do an amazing job with quite a complex system, but I am producing around 110kWh per day, on a good day, for the same price EPC Improvements gad originally quoted me. In all honesty, I think the system will pay itself in about 5 years. If I can only manage to get our ASHP sorted, then we can truly see the benefit of both systems. Even with a SCOP 2.2 ASHP that is using up around £1200 in additional electricity a year (need serious remedial work, ASHP installed by EPC Improvements), the Solar system is holding it together and we are in quite a large credit with Octopus.I am now referring everyone that mentions they are interested in Solar PV, to Screwdriva
and have recently had a friend who got his Tesla system installed with guidance from Screwdriva.
FYI: Our 44 Panels + GivEnergy Battery System was installed in May 2024.
