Facebook marketplace scams

I sell a few things every week on marketplace and I get the same obvious scammers messages on high value items, they want to pay by bank transfer or PayPal followed by some elaborate instructions about collection written in bad Englush,  I don't see what their plan is, get a refund from PayPal? But bank transfer won't do that, so can they use my bank details for fraud ?

No, it's to submit a fraud complaint and have the transfer reversed (not as impossible as you think) or to over pay and have you return some of the funds to launder.

If collection in person, they can then do the old "I'll just transfer you the money, there you go, let me show you in this fake banking app".
