Good morning, seems to be dry here for a change, though so was yesterday until the evening.
Everyone seems to be cracking on with their Christmas shopping, the days slip away so quickly the big day will soon be here.
Had a quiet day yesterday, Dh went through all of our Australia documents, all seems to be in order.
Wicked Lady, we have family there, our eldest son. He went there 22 years ago because he had a job to go to, then met and married an Australian girl. They now have 3 boys, a lovely family.
It will be extremely hot , I know, but we'll manage! Gers, I remember you going last year, and posting from there.
I've got a hair appointment this morning, I really need it, I look hideous at the moment, yet it's not long since I was there.
Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of our poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, glad your documents are all in order.
Wet and miserable outside this morning, shame as we have had two glorious days although it has been very cold.
I went to Glasgow with DD yesterday and got one Christmas present, I really wasn't in the mood for shopping but it was good to get out. We had a lovely vietnamese lunch so all was good in my world! DS2 and his DGF are in Vietnam at the moment on holiday, lucky spuds.
Still sniffing and coughing but it's an in-service day today so no children to deal with, just fussy teachers! We have a very big labelling job to do so that will keep us busy.
Sounds like you had a good time Ruby.
Pleased to hear your fitness regime is paying off Gers.
Happy Monday, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's wet and miserable here too and a strong wind is forecast to get up later. But it feels less cold than yesterday morning when, despite the heating on, I couldn't get warm. Phone call from DB telling me he was the same.
I got all my Xmas shopping unpacked finally yesterday morning, put in the relevant boxes and added to the list which has long been at a standstill. I still have all the main gifts for the family to get but lacking inspiration.
No plans for today. But I must change my bed and get the bedding festooning the upstairs. Enough veg left from yesterday to add to something yet to be decided on for my dinner. I haven't yet made my tub of soup for the coming week's lunches so that will be to do. I may do tomato and basil as not made it for a while.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

The high and nosy winds started early on so the days promises to be dull and wet. At least it's not as cold as the last couple of days.Apart from a couple of hours outside I found myself in front of the stove for most of the day. Today I have a few chores to get through.Snoozer - my brother met his wife in Edinburgh and emigrated when she had to return to Oz due to complicated Australian residency rules back then. He loved it. I never had the urge to live there despite visiting about ten times over the years. I'm getting excited for you.10

Morning all
Raining here and very windy not a nice day at all, I only have one lady coming today as Rob has got a really bad upset tummy his mum said he is really quite poorly bless him I hope he is soon better.
Today we are going to meet in a local town and see if we can book a play of The jungle book for just before Xmas, we are then going to go to the range and have a look at the Xmas display and maybe do a bit of shopping.
Our roast yesterday was delicious mum loved it, but I had a very uncomfortable night, I had this last time I had pork so I am wondering if it’s a bit rich for me, I felt very sick and had a bloated tummy, I do hope not as I love pork, we have some left for tomorrow night so we shall see.
Dinner tonight will be chicken Kiev chips and peas so nice and easy. Our DW has died 😩 its currently on its back on the kitchen floor while we wait for a part to come, OH thinks he can fix it so fingers crossed 🤞 it’s horrible having to wash everything by hand.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Hi everyone,
I didn't manage to post over the weekend because we had Chris, Crystal and Nate here. We went to the zoo on Saturday, which is a very expensive business £30 an adult. When Chris and Crystal lived closer to Whipsnade we used to get then annual membership for Christmas and it would almost be worth it to start doing that again - I shall weigh up how many visits they would have to make for it to be viable. It was lovely to have them here and I think they enjoyed it as well.
Laura and Brian have moved on in Costa Rica and Esben seems to have recovered from the tummy bug he had at the last place. They had a doctor look at him and he told her he was like a volcano when he was being sick. Anyway, they managed to get out to a wildlife reserve and saw sloths, howler monkeys, capuchins and a coral snake among other things. They've also seen a toucan although not in the reserve because the guide told them that the monkeys steal their eggs. It seems as if the monkeys are a nuisance constantly stealing things and not just food.
I'm going to MK this morning to try to get some Christmas shopping done.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all. It's just started raining again here!
DH has had toothache over the weekend and has just gone up to the dentist; he was lucky enough to get a 9am appointment so will see what they say. We are meant to be doing a walk with a group of about 10 friends at 11am and it's an hours drive so I think we will be pulling out of that. I'll wait and see if he wants to go the the pub lunch afterwards though.
Scarlet: DH's sister and her husband got moved to Sydney to set up a new branch of the Company back in the 1970s and they have remained there ever since. She came back for DD's wedding last September but I'm not sure if DH wants to do the long trip out there again now he's getting older.
I think I may start writing some Christmas cards if we don't go out and there's always the ironing!
Have a good day everyone.10 -
Morning everyone
Pouring with rain here and very windy...little cat was crying at the back door to get out so she's going to come back wet. She has a litter tray so it's not like she has to go outside.
I was stewarding at our local theatre on Saturday afternoon - it was a really good show of songs from musicals and the theatre was almost full. Before I went I had a look in our new charity shop, a Barnardos, I bought a few things for little one but it was very busy so I might go back in on Wednesday for a better look. There were also workmen busy inside an empty shop which is going to be Yorkshire Trading.
DD picked me up afterwards and little one stayed with me so DD could get a decent nights sleep. She was a lot better yesterday and back to eating, though she was still tired and was not impressed when I insisted she had a nap after lunch. I lay next to her and was almost asleep myself - she had a good hour though. I expect she'll be back at school today though DD will say to ring if they think she needs picked up early.
Eldest DD is off on her travels again, this time to Lanzarote where my brother and sister in law have an apartment - she texted earlier to tell me it's 29 degrees.
Right I better get some jobs done before it's time to go to work. Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all, brightening up now after raining a lot of the night.Yesterday was freezing, especially when I took BigDog out early.Poor DGD was so cold playing football stood in the net, her team won so she was just stood around a lot of the time.Halfway through it started raining too so we were all soaked as well. She couldn't wait to get in the van which has heated seatsIn the afternoon we took a present to my cousin's for her son who is getting married on Saturday and stayed for a cup of tea. I haven't seen her for a while, she's had covid and is still coughing a month later.Leftover curry for tea tonight.I'm envious of those who are getting their Xmas presents sorted, not started yet. I feel like I have lots to sort/think about, think I need a list / calendar to put everything down.Australia- there seem to be quite a few of you with family there. DS1 travelled there with his then girlfriend after he finished his degree, they made their way all down the West coast, stayed in Perth and worked for a bit then moved on to NZ, Thailand,Cambodia & were away for a year, they loved it. Enjoy Scarlet when you go.Right better go and do my jobs and write that list! Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning! It was hamering down last night but now it's sunny if a little windy, ok, a lot windy. Supposed ot be getting my car back today, I hope so, I need to get to Bath on Thusday , I'd better look for parking. Today I'm planning on making two more cakes, forgot I said I'd make one for the mechanic, his face lit up when I told him. Bless him, he went above and beyond with my other car so payback is in order. Besides, it's easier to cook two and add/subtract than halve plus I might as well fill the oven if it's on. I was going to start in the garden but it's way too windy yet, maybe this afternoon when the cakes are cooking. The house is undeniably a tip, there are three loads of washing to do, stuff to take to the upcycle place [no I will not buy stuff there honest!] and I think I need a maid...Anyone got one going spare?Gers, so pleased your hard work is paying off. Scarlet, how exciting, not long now, time will fly by! camelot, I read big labelling job and thought, well, the Dillys of the world will be cheering you on today
TA, well done, want to do mine?
Izzy, I'm sure Sunday dinners are only so there's leftovers for the next day too, otherwise it's lot of time and effort for a ten minute scarf. Ruby, glad you had a nice weekend and well done for complaining and getting a result [ something I am woefully inadequate at]. Hope Rob improves soon. snoozer, you got it all going on haven't you? Hope you have a restful week! WL, yep, don't walk, the weathers horible. Hope the dentists goes well for him. dp1, glad your stewarding comes with perks, good to hear your dgd is better. Rosy, funnily enough my OH was talking about missing the heated seats in my old car [there aren't any in this car], I don't blame her at all. And with you on the Christmas shopping, I've done a very bare amount...if you coud even call it that. Take care all, shout out ot the MIA, wrap up warm!
