in Credit cards
Just a general question about Payment protection.
If I did not have the above and something bad happened to me (died) would my wife have to pay the outstanding balance on my credit card which is in my name only ( 1 card )?
I am a healthy 61 yr old but you never know, I wouldn't want to leave her with having to pay out a few k which she doesn't have anyway.

A deceased person's debts are paid from their estate so if you leave any assetts (money, property etc) then the CC would have to be paid by your executor from theses assetts.
If you have no assetts then the debt dies with you.
PPI is however, rather expensive, if you are concerned you should investigate simple life insurance and compare the costs.
Obviously it make sense to clear the debts asap anyway as you are probably paying interest on them0 -
