MSE account of course!0

In what way do you want to make it private? No one can see your personal details, all they can see is your username, posting history and last time on the site but none of that links back to you personally.0

I think banned users profiles appear as though they are private5

In a similar vein, can one ask the mods to delete whole threads?
Especially old ones, say over 5 years old? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.31% of current retirement "pot" (as at end March 2024)0 -
I doubt it, old posts are still often very helpful, and no forum staff will go through on a case by basis to check so many.0

Can’t really seen any benefit in having previous posts hidden - mine aren’t that exciting anyway - but if you post something and then regret it because you think you may have over shared something personal then you can ask the forum team to have posts/threads removed and they decide on an individual basis. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Is not hugely important, would have been preferrable is all.0

"Hello Forumite.
Did you know Forumites are able to edit and delete their own posts? Just hit the "•••" icon at the top right of your post and select ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’. (You're not able to delete the first post in a thread yourself, but you can send a request to do so to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.)"
