We've generally found that DPD at least deliver when they say they will, yes you don't get that message until the morning but it helps with planning. Or because its fresh food they leave the box outside the door anyway so we just trust it is going to be outside the door when we get home. But that of course depends on your house and the area you live in.

One MoneySaving tip is to check any incentives/rewards scheme your employer might offer - for example I am aware some people can buy HelloFresh gift vouchers at 10 per cent less than face value. This also seems to eliminate the delivery charge, so the overall saving is even bigger.

Just to add my own experience on Hello Fresh. I signed up at the Ideal Home show last year , explained I am a coeliac and was told it’s fine there’s loads you can choose from. 

Started my first order, found 2 meals that were GF and needed a third, rang them up, no, they don’t really cater for GF but if I read all the ingredient list carefully I can just leave out anything that contains gluten. that’s Ok if it is a single bit of seasoning or a side, but totally impractical when a lot of the dishes were pasta or wheat based. 

They were very good though, refunded all my money and took me off their mailing list and even apologised they weren’t really set up for people with dietary needs, other than veggies.
