The 8Gb one uses the 12th gen processor and the 16Gb the 11th gen. Personally I would take the extra memory.

Do you need an i7 processor though?

What will you be using it for.
  • Thanks. yes since posting I've read I might be better off with Ryzen.

My usage is email, shopping, surfing, and Word/spreadsheets, no gaming.

Also realised neither of the above are touchscreen, not something I'm used to but might be nice to have.

An Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 would more than suffice, I would still try to get 16Gb if I were you.

An i3 would also be more than adequate. 8GB RAM will be plenty if you don't keep lots of windows and browser tabs open, bit 16GB is good to have. 256GB SSD is adequate for your stated uses. If you have a large collection of photos or videos you might need more.
