Problems with SM2 meters communicating - could I pay for replacements?

I am with Octopus - I am very happy with customer services etc.  However I have had regular problems with my Co-op Energy installed SM2 meters.  They communicate - then they don't - a regular cycle.  TBH I am fed up with this - it excludes me from certain tarrifs.

I would be willing to pay for Octopus approved and installed meters - as a Ripple Investor I really am not going to change (unless the deal is almost unrealistic).

Has anybody had their SM1 or faulty/non-communicating SM2 meters replaced?  Did they pay?  How much?
