PARKING TICKET

Hello guys
I have an issue I would really like some guidance on, please.
This morning I received a letter from Horizon Parking, stating I was 'parked out of bay' n they are wanting payment of £70.00.
According to this letter of today, according to Horizon I apparently ignored their first communication, however, today is the first letter I have received from them, I did visit this mini supermarket, despite only being a few minutes, returning to my car on said day, there was no ticket on my car n I had pulled into what I assumed was a space after seeing another car parked there n then leave.
I would like to know if I have to pay this, as I understand private parking companies cannot demand that I pay, they are threatening if I do not pay they will take me to court n also the bailiffs.
Can you help, what should I do ?
Thank you

Very very easy to beat Horizon.

And make sure you never reveal identity of who the driver is in any communications.2
