Thanks for starting us off Scarlet. This morning it's a balmy +2° degrees already 😀, yesterday started so cold, then got less chilly and turned into another glorious autumn day. My expedition into town was mildly annoying as I couldn't get frozen green beans, ended up with fresh ones so blanched and froze them myself.Today I am waiting in for a local painter to come to give me a quote for doing the downstairs and upstairs hallways, I hope he doesn't make me wait all day.10

Morning folks. It promises to be a repeat of yesterday with sunshine all day - sadly blooming cold with it.
I am in my usual Saturday dither here. I am starting to get stressed with my lack of enthusiasm for Christmas gift shopping and yesterday I promised myself I would trip to Harrogate today, despite the long bus diversion still being in place. This morning I am wondering if I cba after all!! Roaming around some internet stores gift spotting is beginning to sound more appealing. I have never been this slack set up before, with gift spotting usually going on all year round. The stuff in my stash box barely covers the bottom!!
BELLA don't let these worthless s*ds ruin your life. A friend's house was broken into whilst they were in bed and they never heard a thing. For a long time after she was frightened of going to bed in case it happened again. The worry made her ill. It's nationwide, these scumbags thinking they are entitled to take other peoples property rather than work.
Have a good day folks if you can. SCARLET I hope the ab's are starting to work. Some of you may remember me going through the same procedures (and more) quite a few years ago - I did enough wittering on about it on here at the time. They never got to the bottom of the constant uti's and I have been on a one a day maintenance dose of ab's ever since. TAFF-of-a-thousand-jobs your posts tire me out, have a slothful w/e. Have a nice w/e folks and take care xx

Good morning again, it doesn't seem to be a bad morning. It's cold though.
I did a bit of shopping yesterday but was glad to get home, I felt really tired and just sat about for the rest of the day. Usually I'm doing something.
There's tidying to do today, and some washing, which will probably have to dry indoors. I can't be bothered to hang it outside just to bring it in later without it having dried at all. I find that hanging things from a bedroom door frame on hangers dries them surprisingly quickly, and the dehumidifier helps.
Hope your painter turns up sooner rather than later Gers, it's a nuisance hovering about all day waiting for someone.
Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of anyone who is poorly or sad. Take care folks.

Morning allRe Christmas shopping. Same every year for me. I've got the money put by, I find the time to actually go shopping but I never know what to get everyone. I usually have to ask and then never really get an answer! What I'd really like to do is get everyone a gift voucher and let them decide what they want to spend it on but it's not the same as seeing them physically open presents on the day.Upstairs looks like a Chinese laundry as I checked weather forecast yesterday and hung the washing out. Around 10am the heavens opened and didn't close again until about 1ish. Eventually it stopped so put the washing in the tumble for a while and then hung it all upstairs.Making chocolate chip muffins later and will make the beginnings of a shepherds pie for tomorrow and that's about it for me but maybe trying to get some inspiration for Christmas pressies online so I'll see you there @TravellingAbuela :-)Take care all x10

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Off to FC this morning to assist with Pay. Leaving early though as I’m going to a WI off-shoot sewing group. They are making reusable Christmas crackers out of fabric but as I’m not confident with my sewing machine I will take some crochet.I too am only now getting a jiggle on with present buying. I had very little to do yesterday at work, so did a couple of online orders. Will need to brave the shops at some point though. I ordered some lookilikey oodies - one each for nieces and nephews for Christmas plus one for me and DH to have now. My goodness, cannot tell you how lovely they are and only £11!
Fingers crossed the decorator turns up @GersHave a good day whatever you get up to.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 17/25 Currently reading The Ghost Fields by Elly Griffiths12 -

Awake early this morning, not a surprise as I was in bed by 9 last night, just felt dog tired.
TA and Chrisca like you I feel I should have done more in the pressie area but haven't really been in the right frame of mind.
Gers good luck with the painter.
Scarlett try to have a relaxing weekend, I'm finding washing is always there at the moment. We have a friend visiting this weekend and then DBIL and family next.
I bought some extra bed linen a couple of weeks ago to avoid the constant laundry, the house was begining to feel like a b&b
Our next village has a Christmas and craft fair next weekend so may try that for presents inspiration. I had a lovely photo sent to me this week of my old bosses daughter in a bobble hat I made her last year, hope in the new year creativity might come back
Beef stew and dumplings for dinner today and I might do a banana bread as they are looking a bit past their best in the fruit bowl
Have a good weekend all, hugs to all who want them. Take care and keep warm

Morning All
Cold and frosty this morning, I have the heating on to warm me up. I've a snotty cold so will be drinking peppermint tea all day and taking paracetemol. Thankfully the sore throat isn't as bad as yesterday but I have a hacking cough.
Must go and do some shopping this morning, probably a walk down to the shops will do, will take the soft plastic recycling when I go.
Bathrooms cleaned and I ran the hoover about yesterday as I had left a tissue in the pocket of my work trousers when I washed them and the bits were everywhere!
What utter scumbags Bella, I get so annoyed that folk think it's ok to take someone else's property. We were burgled about 10 years ago, never did hear anything from the police!
Hope you're feeling better Scarlet.
Enjoy your trip away Ruby, hope you get your shopping done.
I haven't got much for Christmas yet but have a few ideas, I'm going with DD and the little one to Glasgow tomorrow to hopefully get a few things.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX10 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet. A lovely autumn morning here. Driving over to DS1 after school the sky was spectacular as the sun was going down with big strange shapes of cloud. Dh got caught up in traffic coming back from the NEc on the M6 but they had a good day,his leg seems to have been ok.Bit later K.O. today for DGS footie, and going to stop at 11 for 2 minutes silence. Not keen on the later starts ( although it's nice not to have to rush around early) but when there's a match at the stadium it makes for a rush, especially today when a big crowd is expected. I need to take my DN card and birthday money with us to give her too, 20 tomorrowSounds like we're all the same with present planning this year
Once DGS birthday is out of the way in a couple of weeks perhaps I'll be a bit more focused. TA, I do generally like going to other towns on the bus but it can take ages, especially with roadworks, diversions etc.
Right better get sorted, DH is going to buy some paint for the bedroom first.Enjoy your weekend:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7 -

Morning all
Lovely morning here with a bright blue sky. I'm the same with my lack of Christmas shopping - I have got lego for my nephew and have started collecting Polly Pocket dolls and accessories from Ebay for little one's present. My plan is to put them in a storage box and wrap the box up...I'm buying the exact same sets I bought for my 2 DDs 20 years ago! Other than that I've got nothing though to be fair I don't have that many to buy.
DD ended up having to take little one to hospital in Newcastle yesterday as she wasn't at all well - she'd slept most of the day and wouldn't eat. The doctor thought it was a virus and gave DD glucose drinks she can feed her with through her tube in her tummy. She has a card now to show at A and E that says little one needs to be seen quickly as she has conditions that can worsen quickly, so they didn't have to wait long and were home by about 7pm.Hopefully she'll be a bit better today - I'll wait a bit before I text in case they're still sleeping.
I'm going to have a tidy and hoover this morning and then this afternoon I'm stewarding at our local theatre - it's a performance of songs from musicals from our local variety group, who are always very good. I'm looking forward to it.
Hope everyone has a good day today x9
