ParkingEye - Parking Paid but wrong machine used

I parked at a Health Centre in the City I live. There is parking directly outside the entrance and then further parking to the side. There is a big bank of pay machines directly outside the building and I paid there. It didnt find my car on entry of the number plate which i admit i thought a bit strange. But it then gave you the option to manually enter your entry and exit time which i did. Actually overpaying.
A week later i received a £70 fine for non payment. At this point i googled the parking and realised that there is more then one 'car park' even though they are all adjacent to each other off the same site entry, and they have their own machine. But all run by parkingeye.
All the review's were the same, very misleading as you see the big pay units as you exit the health centre and everyone who appealed lost and still had to pay.
Can i appeal on this basis, as i used the wrong machine? So technically im in the wrong even though it feels this layout is purposely set up to cause you to get a fine. As indicated by all the other reviews. If however I'm not going to win an appeal or it might affect my credit in any way, i will just suck it up and pay.

But no-one 'has to pay' after losing at POPLA. Why do people put that in reviews? You don't pay!
Is the PCN POFA or non-POFA? You know (hopefully, having read the sticky thread first) as per what we call the 'golden ticket' shown in the 3rd post of the NEWBIES thread.
AND both versions are shown in my new thread, too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you, I appreciate the reply and you pointing out where to go. Not going to lie though, I'm finding this all very confusing
It has on the back of the Parking Charge Notice a paragraph that says "protection of freedoms act" so I'm assuming this means it's a POFA.

OK.
It's not a fine. Don't call it that.
You don't pay.
To win at POPLA you'll need photo evidence and ideally walk round taking a phone video to prove your point.
Whilst there, complain to ALL UNITS on site. You only need one person to cancel it for you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
