Ppi tax reclaim taking ages

I submitted my R40 form 7 weeks ago. I had an acknowledgement saying we will be in touch within 14 days but have heard nothing. Is this normal?

Tax isn't deducted from PPI refunds and so there is nothing you can claim back.
Do you mean a refund of tax deducted from the statutory interest element?

If the R40 was paper based then expect to be counting in months. If it was submitted electronically then expect it to be counted in weeks.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
