Builing and contents insurance

I have renewal via a local broker.  I pay for it over 10 months.  And its gone up by £6 per month.  I would go with just any bog standard company but I have a tree that's within 5 meters of the house.  its over 20 years old.  I keep it down and has never goes taller than the house.  My current insurer is ok with that.  But I am not sure of what other insurers I could look at.  Any ideas

Try looking for separate buildings and contents cover. You might find it works out cheaper. We have separate policies as there has been a previous subsidence claim 33 years ago so our buildings cover options are limited, then add in some special risk items on contents and it all gets a bit awkward. By splitting them out, it gives us more options.

Generally it will be cheaper to buy the product packaged and it makes claims that effect both buildings and contents much easier to deal with. There are circumstances where it will be cheaper to split, such as if you had a £500,000 art collection in a 2 up, 2 down ex council terrace house in a small welsh town
