Hi all,
I am having to take my dog to a vets I am not keen on, as they have been quite poor.
I phoned to ask how much specific vaccinations would cost as we are exporting our dog to Australia. They went to check and phoned me back to say they would be £30. When my hubbie had them done they charged £51. Apparently, even though I told them all the things I wanted a quote for they missed off the kennel cough, which was £21. I phoned up and asked to speak to the manager, who they said would phone me back, it never happened.
I wrote and complained to their head office, but just got a sorry, no offer of any money back.
I have since had a quote for blood tests which are required which came to £185. When we got there it was actually £187, only £2 so I can live with that.
Our dog has failed one of her blood tests and has to have it redone. We can't go to another vet as they all want her registered with them and old records etc. The day it has to be redone, is tomorrow, Christmas eve. The vet left a messgae on our phone saying they had booked us in for 9am, but to phone back to rearrange if it was inconvenient. I phoned up to be told by the person on the phone that no, I could not change the time, I was lucky to get that, Xmas eve is for emergencies only (feels like an emergency to me, she flys out on the 6th). I pointed out the vet had TOLD me to phone if we couldn't do that time, but no...
So I have now looked at the break down for the last set of blood tests (which by the way according to our shippers are normally at least £30 cheaper) and the one test we need redoing is listed as £14.65 (the cheapest of the 4). I just can't see them only charging that price even though it is listed as that in their quote. There is no seperate price for blood removal, just 4 different blood test charges.
So, does anyone know if they have to charge you at least close to the quoted price?
Thanks
