Certified ID for savings accounts

I have just moved home, and opened as many accounts as I thought I needed while at my old address, but now I need to open an account with a new provider.
I have already registered to vote at my new address, and started changing some bank accounts over a couple of weeks ago.
Does anyone know how many weeks or months it will be before electronic verification works for me again, and also whether there is an easy way of testing to see if I can be verified electronically (eg trying to open an account with a new online provider such as Shawbrook)? I cannot go down this route with my chosen provider because they are a small building sociey and the application would be by post.
Also, are there any high street banks or building societies who will certify my ID for free if I am a customer of them?

The speed of your electoral roll registration will be dependent on your local council's submission process - can you monitor this via your credit files perhaps?1

Thanks, that's a really good idea, my credit report tells me I'm not currently on the electoral register. I can check again once I am closer to posting back my application. I'll report back here when I am registered so that other people have an idea of timescales0

Just some feedback. The Yorkshire building society were happy to copy and certify my driving licence free of charge today. I have an account with them but I'm not sure they even looked that up.3
