Call me a cautious but when something sounds to good to be true it raises red flags with me.
I had an email which appears to be from a legitimate Thames Water Utilities account. I gave no details other than my email, which they already had, to request a prospectus. Got a follow up email from what appears to be a legitimate Morgan Stanley account.
Has anyone else received this? Is it legitimate as 8.25% sounds too good to be true.

If the "too good" deal is approaching you first - it's likely a scam.1

Especially given the current financial straits of Thames Water - another red flag!0

I would have thought that would have the opposite effect and make any investor far more wary about committing money to a company in trouble. Maybe a bit of a bad move by the scammers.Kim_13 said:Especially given the current financial straits of Thames Water - another red flag!Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Thank you everyone for confirming what I thought, I normally spot scams but this looks very sophisticated. Email accounts blocked.0

Might appear to be too good to be true. However have recently launched such a bond. Scammers use real traded instruments to give their emails a veneer of authenticity. With a BOE base rate of 5.25% . Commercial borrowing at 8.25% is far from unusual.1
