Morning everyone just got back from a cleaning job I’m having a sit down and a cuppa before work it’s really cold and damp here hubby is at the hospital having a final hopefully appointment with the consultant about his knees all seems good WickednLady you want to meet our chimney sweep he’s good at his job but we get songs poems and stories he’s hilarious but you can’t give him any encouragement or you would never get rid of him how he gets around to everyone I will never know but he’s always fully booked you have to book I’m in for the next year straight away. We are having a bit of all sorts tonight just to use some bits up makes for a easy tea and I can’t be bothered to think I will do that tomorrow and when I get in I need to ring about my house insurance quote it’s gone up 50 pounds but when I’ve looked I can’t get it much cheaper but it’s worth a phone call to see what they come up with . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Good morning all 🙂
I hope it's OK to join in.
A late start here also, didn't get out of bed until 10! No idea what happened there.
I've taken some of my batch cooking out of the freezer, pea and ham soup. So will reheat that for dinner and I've got 2 loaves of bread on their second rise too. Hopefully they'll turn out nice.
I'm attempting a no spend day today and need to crack on with some knitting. It's getting cold isn't it? Test ran the heating yesterday for half hour but then I was absolutely sweating. 😂
Maybe I'll just stick to the hot water bottle for another couple weeks.
I should be changing energy companies this month, once that's finalised I'll feel a bit better about having the heating on hopefully.
Hope everyone has a fab day.January 2025 GC 🥕 £144.61 / £400

Morning all again, just...Just took my car to get the boot cover done, walked back, took me about an hour going slower and slower...time was it used to take 20 minutes. Stopped at lidl on the way back because I thought I deserved a bacon and egg roll for all that excercise and all the bacon in the house is frozen and to be honest, I needed a rest. And I picked up an airer from outside the flats, will be trying that out for growing beans next year. Just had a call from the blind people, I'm booked in for next Wednesday so that'll be nice to have a bit of privacy again. Going for the same kind of blinds as you Izzy, clip in ones with a mix of venetian and shutters. I've just put the water on to clean the kitchen because I'll start with two christmas cakes today, with another four tomorrow, time permitting. I've only got two cake tins so can only do two at a time. I've probably got to pick my car up after but I think I'll ask OHs mum if she can give me a lift there. They are dropping theirs off for an MOT this afternoon at some point. And that's my day....I'm also loosely thinking of making something for shows for the porch, better than the wicker baskets they're currently in.snoozer, I had to google that, sounds grim, another vote for extra orthotics if possible. I'd like solar panels too but we need the roof done first otherwise I'll be having to take them off to do that in the future. Ruby...noooo! not the magic cupboard!!! And go steady with the flood driving. Gers, hope the nails stay put! To be honest though, if they're anything like normal gel stuff, it'll take an angle grinder to get it off...good stuff. dp1, you could try schools or playgroup or craft type places for the mags, they can be cut up and used for collages or maybe doctors offices etc...TA, enjoy the back to usual, hope you're making a bog bake for them
Rosy, hope the next venue isn't as far! Coxy, you could still go though? Good news re treatment for your dad though. would they not let you off for the funeral i you explained to them? I know it's your first day and all the stuff that comes with that but this is an unusual circumstance. bella, sounds fabulous! enjoy! I'm jealous...WL and Izzy, must be peculiar to chuimney sweeps, mine's like that too...Izzy, hope your husbands knees get the all clear. welcome mbh...[name's too long for me to type
]Take care all, it's a bit changeable today, be prepared, like a scout....

Dp1 have you thought about popping your vogue magazines on ebay also? Some people collect and would love certain back issues I bet.
I've heard people are having great success with vinted also, seems a bit more modern than ebay.
Thanks for the welcome taff.
Well my nsd didn't happen, had a bad tummy so sent ds1 to the shop for some peppermint tea. I've given up today. Having a sofa day with a blanket and hot water bottle.
Dinner is cooking nicely in the slowcooker and the bread came out nice.
Think I'll make a few more loaves at some point and fill the freezer up with them. Kids will eat it quick enough and it saves me the daily sourdough prep.January 2025 GC 🥕 £144.61 / £400

Hi everyone
Well no one turned up to fit the smart meter though I did get a text about half an hour after my appointment to say they couldn't come and I'd get another £30 credited to my account - getting quite profitable!
WL/Izzy we used to have a lovely lady chimney sweep when the girls were little - she used to talk for ages and youngest DD used to love going outside to watch for the brush coming out the top. She used to say she wanted to be a chimney sweep too when she grew up!
Little one came out of school with exciting news - ' Mummy granny I'm going to be an angel in the Christmas play, some peoples sheep and some peoples cows but I'm an angel' They'd started learning songs today starting with Away in a Manger.
TA enjoy having all your girls together for tea - is it pasta bolognese? x8
