E.ON Next to Octopus change fiasco

I have no mains gas.(just an ugly Calor tank in the garden that is largely redundant now we have a ground-source heat-pump.
I'm in the process of having Solar panels and battery storage fitted. My son has Octopus for his power and solar system and we each got a £50 credit for me moving over to them.
I have a SMETS 2 meter display which works fine with Hugo monitoring.
The changeover was requested on 6th October and I was informed by Octopus I was now with them on 11th October. I checked the SMART meter in the Kitchen and it told me it was supplied by Octopus.
But E.ON Next tell me they haven't received the change-over meter reading from Octopus, so wont issue a Final Bill and a refund of the balance of my £905 credit with them!
Anyone else had this problem?

It happens. They have 6 weeks to issue a final bill, so around 22 Nov, once that date is past they owe you £30 compensation. Have you checked you EonNext account for meter reads to see if anything is there ?

One of the reasons for the delay is completely outside of Eon's control - on a switch, meter readings are checked by an independent third party to make sure they're right; not to do with your account as such, but as part of the process for the two suppliers.
Plus, I think most suppliers have an escalating approval process for refunds - the higher the credit balance, the greater the number of internal audit checks. But, as molerat says, there's a fixed deadline for the final bill to be issued, then another deadline for your refund to be issued (6 weeks and 10 days), with each deadline netting you £30 automatic compensation if it's missed.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.1 -
Sounds normal so far. I had a £980 credit balance with them and requested a £900 refund by email which they had no issues with to be fair.
