I used to get a packet of Cheeselets on the way to school when I was 5, 4d I think, I can't remember whether I bought them myself, I think I did*. They are square shaped small crackers with an amazing cheesy taste, my neighbour tells me they sell them in Poundland, I'll have to check it out.

    * I do remember going to local shops for the family when I was 6, including the fish & chips shop on a Saturday, needing to cross a couple of busy roads. I used to buy Oxo flavoured crisps (do they exist?) from the chip shop when I believe the only other flavour you could get was Smiths plain with a little blue bag. How times change.

Corona pop ... 6d a big bottle with a 1d back on return of the bottle.

I’m not sure if they were ever discontinued as such but I could only ever find them on sale in my school - Dubble Bars. When they banned the sale of junk food in schools, the only place you could buy chocolate from was a vending machine in the Sixth Form Centre. By the time I reached 6th Form, the vending machine we had all heard about years prior was still there, but no dubble bars in sight!

Drink Wise - Archers Raspberry. Gone by the time I was old enough to buy it myself, but you can still get the peach one.

And Raspberry Coke. Disappeared as COVID hit and never came back. Can’t stand Raspberry Pepsi (still available to my knowledge.) Typical.

My local shop sells Dairy milk caramilk bar and buttons and it's similar to Caramac.

Some of my faves from years ago which are no longer available are the Bitz choc bar ( mint and or orange) and also the gambit bar.  I remember fuse bars and the spira were faves too!

I loved fruit salad chews, I think they were 4 for 1d.
Black Jacks were the same size and price, and gave you a black tongue.

I must say I preferred things with the carcenogenic (sp) flavourings to the ones that were supposed to be okay but just made you feel ill.

I do really like Caramac so will be sorry to see it go.

But it will be only sorrow in so far as a sentimental sorrow - I rarely eat chocolate no so it won't change my life.

As a child, I pestered my Mum for a Caramac Easter Egg every year, but such an item was not available.  Imagine the delight one year when the Easter Bunny melted down some Caramac bars and made Caramac Easter Egg - the best ever :)
    Thanks Mum  <3

Another thing I used to like and not sure whether they are still available is Milky Bars and White Chocolate Aero - the latter was a limited edition for a short while and had the white bubbly chocolate in a milk chocolate shell, so quite unique.  I don't think that ever returned so I must have been in a minority in liking it.
