Drying clothes

I have decided to bite the bullet and invest in a dehumidifier, mainly to help with drying laundry when the weather is too bad to peg out.
I dry my clothes in my spare bedroom which is not huge and I live on my own, so it will only be used 2/3 times a week.
My budget is £150, but may be able to stretch a little more.
Suggestions please.

We recently purchased an Inventor Dehumidifier (20L/day) - we loved it and our clothes was dry by the next day (previously taking 3-4 days to dry!).

We chose this because of the reviews, Which? best buy, and as a tech geek, I can connect it to WiFi. This means we can control it via Alexa. While we considered heated airer, we have no regrets with getting the dehumidifier.

There's a smaller version 12L/day (£149) - if the 20L/day is too big for you and you want to keep it within the budget.

We did purchase a basic cheap one a month ago - Conopu 1800 - and we found that while it didn't work as well for drying clothes, it works fine for reducing humidity levels in a room. We don't have a small room or cupboard to dry clothes with a dehumidifier running however we still use it for our bedroom occasionally.
  • I have the Meaco 12L Low Energy de-humidifier. I bought it from Argos 2 years ago for just under £130  now they are priced at £179.  Argos no longer stock the 12L but it is available from Meaco.

It is white with a green trim. I swear by mine, its amazing how much difference they make. I have a small bedroom at the back of the house and I hang my clothes on hangers over a clothes rail and a hanging rail and leave the dehumidifier running in there. Its incredibly cheap to run.

Dnt get one off Ebay as they are selling the same model on there at £300!

Meaco ABC gets good reviews, has a 10 L version, and there used to be a discount if you bought directly from them.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Having done a bit of research, meaco do seem to come out on top in several different reviews.
    I'm drawn towards this one.

I'll second that. We bought the Arete One 25L a couple of years ago and it's superb. Extracts water at a very high rate and is fairly quiet too. Far better than any cheaper brands we've had before.

We bought a Daewoo 12L from Asda for £90  a couple of weeks ago and it's performed really well. Stuff that hasn't dried outside at the weekend, we finished off in the spare room. Jeans which couldn't be tumbled took about 6 hours

I bought a Meaco One 20L two weeks ago. It is a bit above your budget, but it works brilliantly (it is faster than the 12L I bought for my sister). If you also buy a cheap fan, if you space properly your clothes and move them around a bit you can dry a load (including towels) in six hours. And the amazing thing is that it dries clothes even if the room is not fully heated (it was probably around 17 degrees when I used it last time). In terms of electricity consumption is quite cheap to run - approximately 4-5p per hour. I cannot believe I waited for so long to buy one

We recently bought a Meaco 20l.  It looks alright and it does the job.  I think it was closer to £270.

You can pick up a second hand unit or buy a cheaper alternative.  I can't imagine performance varies too much.

We don't dry clothes indoors, I'm just too lazy to vac windows and it's cheaper than replacing the glazing.

Also have the Meaco Arete One 20l and think it is great. Gets a load of clothes washing close enough to dry in 6hrs that everything is near enough dry and will be ready to put away after another 6hrs ish without the dehumidifier. I don’t use it for towels or sheets as they take up too much space inside. The 12l is only just over the OPs budget and I suspect would do the job and is marginally quieter if that matters.

Have had a Ebac since 2008, which we use every winter for drying clothes.

Ebac webpage has 15 litre model on offer at £195 with four year warranty at the moment.
