And DH is always just moaning, he just does not get the fact we have NO money! He says we have not got the kids enough, well sorry for being so pants but they all have £50-60 each plus stockings and a PC between them all. Yesterday we were in the shop and he was sniping about buying something and when I said I only had £10 he moaned. I try to get him to understand how bills need to be paid but for some reason he has no clue, to be honest I blame myself as I have always handled the money apart from 2 occasions where I left him to sort out his own stuff and he ran up 4k worth of debts then an OD that he didnt pay and totally screwed up our credit rating.
I will ignore him I will and we have not used cc fr months so must be doing okish...
I shall smile and be happy:beer:

Some people will never understand. You are doing a great job 365 days a year, christmas is 1 day and most people can't even remember what they got last year.Barclaycard 3800
Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

when the kids grow up they will not remember how much was or wasnt spent on them they will remember the day and the time together, it is all this that makes a good christmas not money
anyway everyone knows that kids just play with the wrapping paper and boxes anyway:rotfl:The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

You should pat yourself on the back... not only have you got your little ones "more than enough" but you haven't got yourself up to your neck in debt to do it :T
Im sure they would rather have a happy christmas and still be able to have a good new year, than have you max out the CC etc to buy them even more stuff (that they probably don't want, and won't use) and then have to scrimp n save for months to try and pay it off
..and end up with an unhappy mum n dad who are stressed out trying to pay for everything..
So carry on with your wrapping -feeling good about yourself and what a great job you have done..and THRRRPPP to hubby

The best thing I remember as a kid was the great big box that something came in. Forgotten what came in it, but the box was brilliant!0

You have my permission to give the grumpy sod a back hander!

£50-£60 each AND a PC! Bloody hell! I'd say that was more than enough!
Don't forget to add me to your list next year! :A :rotfl:0 -
You know the thing I learned way back was not to wrap presents in front of OH. It was always moans, that's not enough, we need to get something else, doesn't matter what as long as it costs the magic £30 per person (no joke when you're buying for an extended family of up to 20 people!!). He doesn't ever notice when they're unwrapped so I just wrap them without him seeing. I have to say it did always p*** me off too when I'd taken time and trouble to buy something the person might actually like rather than spending £30 on something stupid.
so you're not alone. Some people are just like that generally, never think it's enough. Next year, try to wrap in private
And enjoy Christmas

I'm with the posters here, not your OH-I don't remember a lot of the gifts I got as a kid. I do remember having my family with me, and everyone having fun and being able to relax (and some brilliant boxes to play with :rotfl: ) I think you have done a great job to buy them things they will like, and not to have got more into debt doing so. I agree, some people will just never 'get' the idea of choosing gifts carefully rather than throwing money at Christmas, but you will always get support from this board!:beer:0

That's your mistake. You should have bought them sand. You could have got a tonne of sand (each) for less than that. A metric tonne is plenty for them to be getting on with, and it looks so large under the Christmas tree..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
