Hi.
Trying to sell my son's iPad Air (5?). He restored it to factory, but I wanted to have it demonstrable for selling, so set up my own temp Apple account to use.
This got me past the first stage - email and p'word entered ok - and the next page was iTunes, for 'purchases' from App Store, Tunes, 'Books. I entered the same email and p'word as before, but it returns 'Could not sign in'. Seemingly no way to proceed beyond this.
How many gawdamned accounts do I need to sign up to to get this ratty machine fired up?!
Ta :-)

Lol I don't think it's the machine or Apple that's ratty
Has your son removed it from his account ?
Has it been properly reset to factory, does it say HELLO when you fire it up ?
I have had umpteen Apple products and never had a problem
Had you actually signed in with your Apple ID and was trying to sign in again
The main problems are usually caused by pilot error2 -
Maybe try changing your login details? Could work1

None, you use one of your existing ones and then just log out and factory reset it before handing it over.1

My son has removed it from his own account, and factory reset it - it came up asking for choice of Language, and to set up a PIN.I don't - didn't - have an Apple account myself, so I set one up just to get this machine fired up - existing gmail addy and a new password.I set up PIN number (yup - '0000'), and this got me to the next stage which was to log into my Apple account. This worked fine, and got me through to the next stage - another log in for iTunes and App purchases. I assumed this would be the same email and p'word as I'd set up for the Apple account, but no.So I need to set up another account? Thanks, DCardM - I'll check out that link.
