Anyone else caught out by Onedrive

Options
On Friday last week - I got a pop up from Onedrive reminding me to use it
Which I did - this started my NEW laptop on the path of destruction
It was not a virus but a legitimate MS pop up - that shows MS's attitude to customers
Evidently they are trying to get everyone to save their files to one drive rather than saving locally to C: drive by MOVING ALL FILES TO ONEDRIVE - without asking / without permission !!

I have had all of my FTM files moved (which means that Ancestry does not run as normal because it looks for FTM files on the C: drive) as well as my outlook PST files !
And every document (20+ years worth (15Gb in total)
Do not "click here" if you get a pop up from onedrive...

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

You don't need to use OneDrive, you've never needed to use it.
I've never used it and nothing has ever gone to OneDrive.

If you hadn't clicked it nothing would have moved.

And if you're using an MS account into Windows, then you don't need to do that either, and then you wouldn't have this "problem" with OneDrive, as you can't upload to something that isn't linked.

Manually uninstalled One Drive and a load of other junk MS install but don't want you to remove. You can remove
them but you need to open a command line window.
