From the BBC website but being reported elsewhere as well
'It is the first time in the Post Office's 360-year history that people can choose to use companies other than Royal Mail.'
Post Office to send and receive Evri and DPD parcels - BBC News
I think there has been a lot of speculation about the RM/PO arrangements especially since RM started discounting parcel postage if bought direct making POs more expensive for the same service.
It will be interesting to see if this service gets picked up but many people- I'm just concerned that it will increase my already lengthy waits at a PO counter (22 minutes this morning)

I'm surprised Royal Mail hasn't considered delivering such parcels, a lot of couriers round here (rural) like ACP, DHL, DX, etc use local third party companies for the delivery aspect. Sadly DPD still do it themselves (or don't bother as seems to be the case these days).
The Post Office is idea good IMO, maybe our local town will finally get some decent pick up and drop off points. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

I'm using Vinted a lot for some of my bits and pieces and if a buyer pays for Inpost locker to door collection (which I think is £2.79 or thereabouts) the seller gets an RM48 label (branded for Inpost though) to use. That is for parcels up to 1kg as well!
I sent a few bits this morning, they must be taken to an inpost locker and I understand from there they are delivered to RM in bulk - to be sorted and delivered. It does add a day or so on to a lot of the items, but I'm finding my things often arrive on day 3 even when I've dropped them at a locker late afternoon.
Inpost lockers will also take Evri parcels as long as they have a pre printed label.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
