  • as above, definitely stop paying them, and if you're as fortunate as me they wont ever be able to supply the CCA and it will become statute barred so even more unenforceable .

i hardly got any letters from pra when i told them i wanted a cca. they just sent occasional statements and discounted offers for me to ignore. However they did try and phone me everyday but i blocked their number. I know it might seem a bit disconcerting at first as we are conditioned to be polite to perceived financial people but they are nobodies., do block their number if they start calling you. I have a call log of them trying to call me everyday. Im thinking of complaining to the ombudsman, just to try and cause them a bit of paperwork and grief ( it honestly doesnt bother me)

I've blocked their PRAa number but I get answerphone messages from them every day or two. It doesn't bother me at all and I'm quite used to it now - when I hear the Scottish woman saying please call us back by I almost subconsciously press three to delete.

HFC Bank went into liquidation in 2017, the unsecured loan books were sold to HSBC, who will have off loaded them to various debt purchasers since then.

The thing is, the credit agreements for these loans always stay with the original creditor, they do not accompany the debt they pertain too when sold.

I very much doubt anyone will even know where to look for such paperwork now, 6 years later, for a liquidated company, I recon you can safely ignore this one.

  • Thank you everyone for you help and encouraging comments . I'm determined to stay strong on this one and not capitualte to them. Hopefully they won't call me as there is a note on my account to contact me by letter only due to my bipolar. If they do ring I'll just block them.

You're good people.  Onwards and upwards ;-)

I told PRA that iwouldnt take any of their calls and demanded they didnt phone me. They abided by this for about 4 years then started calling. I answered a couple of times but refused to answer their security questions so they couldn't proceed. Then i just blocked their number.  I recommend this, dont be afraid, they just autodial everyone it seems, the same recorded scottish women leaving me the same message asking me to call them, quite funny really, just delete.
