Where do you live? That affects which ferry crossings are easy options, Newcastle, Harwich, Newhaven are all options as well as the Eurotunnel.
If you travel via Harwich, your ticket can include onward train travel to anywhere in the Netherlands, on the day of arrival.
Amsterdam, Paris and Barcelona are easy to connect. Or go via Rotterdam and you could be in Paris for lunch on the first day?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
If you go via Harwich, you are bound to encounter plenty of gang members exporting the vehicles they have relieved their owners of. Why Harwich port doesn't have ANPR I don't know - or maybe it does but the vehicles have crossed the channel before the owner has woken up and realised its missing from the driveway? If you have a smart car I wouldn't make life any easier for these criminals by saving them the drive. Stick to the train.RAS said:Where do you live? I live in Reading so Heathrow/Gatwick or Eurostar best for me as a departure point.RAS said:Where do you live? That affects which ferry crossings are easy options, Newcastle, Harwich, Newhaven are all options as well as the Eurotunnel.

Another vote for Krakow, although in March it would be somewhat chilly.
And if you could bear to take a bus south over the mountains you could explore Slovakia, perhaps visiting Bratislava and then on to Budapest, to complement your memories of Prague and Vienna.0
